Sage Practice and Development

Promoting peaceful and inclusive societies and providing the tools to create them.

Guided by United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16, my work is focussed on “building effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels” grounded in the principles of social justice.

Principal Fairlie Sage Hunter

Principal, Fairlie Hunter has a Masters in Peace Studies and has spent the past 30 years applying her knowledge and skills in the community and social justice space in NSW, Tasmania and Victoria. Fairlie has additional qualifications in Narrative Therapy, Solutions Focussed Practice, The Sanctuary Model, and Therapeutic Life Story Work. Having worked extensively cross-culturally with Aboriginal and Newly Arrived communities, including at Senior Leadership levels, Fairlie is grounded in community work with a strong academic and practice background.

Imagining beyond our current paradigms

Many of the paradigms we are currently living with and accepting as normal were once radical ideas. The world has changed significantly and yet many of our paradigms have not … imagining beyond where we are is an important aspect of building the “effective and accountable institutions that we need” it is also critical to ensuring social justice is at the core of any future world we collectively create.

Upcoming Training and Retreats

Easily see what training opportunities are coming up. I will be offering training monthly in the core areas of: trauma-competent practice, child safe practice, and values-based leadership. I’ll also be offering monthly retreats. This will be an invitation to visit the beautiful Dandenong Ranges to refresh your knowledge of trauma-competent practice, learn about nature-based therapeutic approaches, and spend time immersed in nature with specific focus on self-care.

“Fairlie is a compassionate, thoughtful and wise practitioner and leader. I deeply value her commitment to improving the lives of those she works with and alongside”

— Micaela Cronin: Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Commissioner
